Dynamic compaction (DC) was advanced in the mid-1960s by Louis Menard. Dynamic Compaction is a cost-effective method for deep ground densification to compact areas of loose granular soils, uncontrolled fills, or garbage dumps to increase density and collapse voids.

The purpose of this #GroundImprovement method is to increase the bearing capacity of the compacted soils, reduce the volume of landfills and lower post-construction settlement. It is best suited for granular soils but has been used successfully to compact unsaturated cohesive fills, waste materials and uncontrolled fills.
