Menard Asia has carried out ground improvement for the apron in Soekarno Hatta Int Airport Terminal 3 which is owned by PT. Angkasa Pura II.

Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Terminal 3 was officially opened on August 6th, 2016. The Terminal 3 spans 1.2 kilometers and the apron is able to serve 40 aircrafts. The terminal has the capacity to serve 25 million international passengers each year. This is a modern terminal specifically designed to cater as a transit point for international airlines.

Menard Asia as sub-contractors of PT. Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk has carried out ground improvement for the apron in Soekarno Hatta International Airport Terminal 3 which is owned by PT. Angkasa Pura II.

Project Overview

The project consists of the construction of the apron at Terminal 3, Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Cengkareng, Jakarta, Indonesia. This apron is to accommodate aircraft to the size of Boeing 747. Soil improvement works were necessary before the construction of the apron pavement itself.

Soil Condition

There is an upper layer of medium stiff silty clay overlying dense sand. Medium dense to very dense sand was found around 12 m to 14 m depth.

Menard Solution

Menard Asia solution for this project was ground reinforcement with Controlled Modulus Columns (CMC) technique. A total area of 65,174 m² were improved using Controlled Modulus Columns (CMC) with specialized rigs.

Menard Asia has successfully finished the project and met all of the client’s expectations. This project was added to Menard Asia‘s portfolio of airport projects in the Southeast Asian region. With the addition of Terminal 3 in Soekarno Hatta International Airport area, Jakarta has more domestic and international flights. This provides benefit for the communities and businesses.
