Menard Asia has completed soil improvement using Controlled Modulus Column for Dam Nai Wind Farm Project – Phase 2, in Ninh Thuan Province, Vietnam.

Project Overview

The construction of Wind Turbines in Dam Nai Wind Farm Project – Phase 2 required soil improvement under circular concrete footings (diameter = 21m) being embedded at a depth of 3.1m from the Final Platform Level.

Soil Condition

During the soil investigation works, Menard Asia had detected soft clay with depths between 2m to 4m below the bottom of foundation level. The competent soil layer were encountered at a depth not less than 4.5m from the bottom of the foundation level.

Menard Solution

Menard Asia’s solution is soil improvement using Controlled Modulus Column to meet the design criteria in terms of Serviceability Limit State (SLS) bearing capacity, dynamic deformation modulus and subgrade reaction coefficient for the foundation of the wind turbine generators.
Execution period: August 2018 to September 2018, with over 1,000 linear meters of rigid inclusion installed.

Menard Asia has successfully completed the project and met all the client’s expectations. This project has added to Menard Asia’s portfolio of process and energy projects in the Southeast Asian region
